Members of Belarus Free Theatre (Being Harold Pinter) discuss the personal and professional challenges they face making theatre under Europe’s last dictatorship, with author and journalist David Marr.
Fri 16 Jan - The War of the Roses
STC Associate Director Tom Wright, actress Pamela Rabe and assistant director Tanya Goldberg share their experiences adapting and performing Shakespeare’s eight history plays in the theatrical epic The War of the Roses - Part 1 and Part 2. Hosted by Malthouse Theatre's Stephen Armstrong.
Tue 20 Jan - Barrie Kosky
Director Barrie Kosky (The Tell-Tale Heart) talks with Sydney Festival Artistic Director Fergus Linehan about theatre, art and politics.
Wed 21 Jan - Double Dream
Pianists Mikhail Rudy (The Pianist, Double Dream) and Misha Alperin (Moscow Art Trio, Double Dream) in conversation with composer and broadcaster Julian Day about their musical backgrounds and unique collaboration.
Thur 22 Jan - The Cinematic Orchestra
Founder of The Cinematic Orchestra Jason Swinscoe chats with arts journalist Fenella Kernebone about his creative process and the intersections between film, jazz and electronica.
Fri 23 Jan - Christopher Wheeldon
Renowned choreographer Christopher Wheeldon (Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company) in conversation with arts writer and commentator Caroline Baum.
Sat 24 Jan - Masters of Tradition
Martin Hayes, Artistic Director of Masters of Tradition, shares the stage with fellow Irish music virtuosos and Festival Director Fergus Linehan, exploring their passion for the rich heritage of traditional Irish music.
Tue 27 Jan - Gate | Friel
Michael Colgan, Director of Dublin’s Gate Theatre, and performers from the company discuss the Gate’s special relationship with the works of Brian Friel, Ireland’s greatest living playwright, with Festival Director Fergus Linehan.
Wed 28 Jan - The Swell Season
Oscar-winning duo Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová share the story of their serendipitous collaboration and unexpected success with music journalist Bernard Zuel.
Thur 29 Jan - A New Chapter
A special opportunity to meet the incoming Artistic Director of Sydney Festival, Lindy Hume, as she chats with Brett Sheehy, Artistic Director of Melbourne International Arts Festival and former Sydney Festival Director, about her inspirations and visions for the future.
